Express Yourself @ Your Library is the theme of this year Reading Program.
Enroll to read, and get cool prizes.


Kick-off June 6, @ 12 p.m. with: EXPRESS YOURSELF WITH CHOCOLATE.
A Chocolate Tasting Party for adults.
There will be chocolate in diffent forms, sizes and tastes,
door prizes and games.

The movie Chocolat will be played at 1:30 p.m.

Express Yourself @ The Library will offer the following activities:
Scrapbooking - June 9 6:00 p.m.
Gardening - June 16 6:00 p.m.
Pilates - June 23 6:00 p.m.
In Line Dancing- July 7 6:00 p.m.
Walk to Remeber- July 10 10:30 a.m.
Jewelry Making - July 14 6:00 p.m.
A piece of Chalk (sidewalk drawing with chalks)- July 21 6:00 p.m.

Express Yourself With Reel Books is the title of this Summer Movie Festival.
The movies presented are inspired by books. Show time is Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The titles are:
June 13 Bridges of Madison County
June 20 Memoirs of a Geisha
June 27 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
July 11 The Green Mile
July 18 Wuthering Heights
July 25 Conagher
August 1 Pride and Prejudice
Other activities include:Yoga (Thursday @ 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m.- Knitting Club 2nd Saturday of each month 2:30 p.m. Book Club 3rd Saturday of each month 2:30 p.m.

"SUMMER READING PROGRAM @ THE LIBRARY" FOR KIDS
This year's theme is BE CREATIVE AT YOUR LIBRARY! Come explore the different arts: visual, music, dance, theater, writing, and cooking!

During the months of June and July join your age group in the Children's Library:

Dazzling Dancers (6 mos.-2 yrs.) Tuesday @ 10:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Mighty Musicians (3-5 yrS.) Tuesday @ 10:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Cool Crafters (K-3rd) Wednesday @ 1:00 p.m.
Amazing Artists (4th-6th) Thursday @ 1:00 p.m.
Teens-Express Yourself! (7th-12th) Monday @ 6:00 p.m.

End of the Summer Reading Program Pool Party for all participants who COMPLETE their log books!

Get Crafty @ the Library
Join us at the Chadron Public Library and learn how to knit and crochet. The Knitting and Crocheting Club is currently working on hats and blankets for new born babies and lap covers for the elderly.

Drop by the second Saturday of each month at 2:30 p.m. You are encouraged to bring your own yarn needles or hooks, but the Library has a limited supply to help you get going. Come join us, learn to knit, or crochet and enjoy the company of other Chadron yarn lovers.







Book Discussion Program Continues at the Library
Get ready for a new book discussion at the Chadron Public Library. Registration is underway for the series' newest selection; The Painted Drum by Louise Eldrich. Discussion of this book takes place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 2009, at the Library Other upcoming selection:

Eat Love and Pray by Elizabeth Gilbert June 20, 2009

Pre-registration is required for each session, and the library will loan the books at the time of registration. Discussions take place at 2:30 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month. Participants are welcome to attend any or all sessions of this series.
Rossella Tesch, Library Director, will lead each discussion. Tesch an avid reader looks forward to leading these discussions.



"Yoga Classes" continue at the Library
Looking for something new and exciting to do?not to mention it's healthy? Then come to yoga classes at the Chadron Public Library!
The classes take place every Thursday at 5 p.m and Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Children's room. Classes are free and open to the public, although these classes are designed for adults; teens are welcome to attend the classes.


Library Continues Homebound Services
The Chadron Public Library will continue to provide homebound service to individuals who are not able to visit their local library, including people with physical or visual disabilities, short-term shut-ins, and individuals who do not have easy or conventional access to the library.

The Chadron Public Library is now offering wireless access to the Internet
Library visitors can now bring their laptop computers and "Surf the Web" using the Library's wireless access point. This service began July 8, and the library has already received positive comments regarding this new service.
