The Chadron Public Library Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, which administers endowments and gifts, providing funds to help cover the rising costs of both library materials and the increasing demand for services, programs and technology.

We ask first that you see to the needs of your family, then we willingly accept your generous, well-considered estate gifts. You may support the Chadron Public Library Foundation with any of the following:

  • Estate Gifts
  • Planned Giving
  • Gifts of Money
  • Securities
  • Property and Real Estate
  • Charitable Trusts
  • Bequests
  • Insurance Policies

The Foundation raises funds to supplement, not supplant, the Library's tax-based support. In creating an endowment, the Foundation builds a long-term, stable funding opportunity.

Donate a Book or Video . . . Materials donated to the library are sorted by volunteers and evaluated by staff to see if they will enhance the current library collections or can replace a worn or old copy of an item the library already owns.

Unique or possibly rare or valuable items are set aside for evaluation by a specialist in antiquarian books who recommends what should go into a silent auction to raise additional funds for the library.

Any items that are worn, torn, water-damaged, mildewed or in generally bad condition due to age or wear and tear are discarded.

Items that are not discarded or added to library collections are sold at the semi-annual Chadron Public Library book sales, and are held in the spring and fall.
