Spatial Sense

Knows position concepts: up, down, top, bottom, etc. Activities:

Talk about these concepts as you go about yourday. The squirrel is in the top of the tree, the sidewalk is underneath your feet.

Ask your child to draw these basic shapes: square, triangle, cross and circle.


Creative Arts

Child can name 10 colors Child can identify body parts Child can use scissors

Child can jump forward, hop on one foot Activities: Foster your child's

creative interests through free form art. Give them plenty of supplies

and let them make their own pictures, sculptures and toys. Ask them to

cut different ways with scissors: wavy, straight, zig-zag, etc...


Social/Emotional Behavior

Child demonstrates positive social behavior and self-control. Child can manage feelings. Child can stay on task for 5 minutes or more. Child plays well with others.

Activities: Attend organized group activities with other children of the same age. This may include story times at the library, playgroups and preschool classes. Take opportunities for your child to join in activities independently from you.
